St. Mary’s Medical Center & the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital Appoints New Chief Nursing Officer

West Palm Beach, Fla. – St. Mary’s Medical Center & the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital appoints Ruth Schwarzkopf as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). In her new role, Schwarzkopf will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of St. Mary’s Medical Center & the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital’s nursing departments. She will ensure that the hospital’s tradition of delivering high quality patient care is consistently maintained.

Schwarzkopf has worked for Tenet for the past 17 years, coming to St. Mary’s after serving as Chief Nursing Officer at sister hospital West Boca Medical Center. Schwarzkopf continues to serve on both the Executive Committee and the Board of the Palm Health Foundation and volunteer's with the American Heart Association and March of Dimes.

Schwarzkopf earned her nursing degree at Ohio Valley Hospital, School of Nursing, and then received her bachelor’s degree in professional studies at Barry University. She continued her education at St. Thomas University, earning her master’s degree in health management. Schwarzkopf is currently a registered nurse in the state of Florida and is on the advisory council for two local colleges, Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.
